Raising the Big Top!!!
We recently found out that a small circus was coming to town, nothing large or famous mind you, but a circus is a circus! We purchased some very reasonable tickets and thought we were set. Until we found out about the elephants raising the tent. So, after waking the girls up early (7:45am) and feeding them a quick breakfast, we were off to pick up Grandma for this very exciting event.
It was very sparsely attended which made it all the better for us. We got a sneak preview of all the animals, very close up. One of the clowns gave us a little history and information on the animals and the circus in general. Then we got to see Viola raise the tent! We all really enjoyed watching the elephant up close as we were able to stand under the tent as she raised the middle.
The clown said that they do this show seven days a week for 246 days in a row, outside that is, until they move inside and do it the rest of the year. They do it multiple times a day all over the country.
Some Pics from last week!
Here are some funny pictures from last week. The girls were patiently waiting for me to get ready to go to our weekly playdate at the neighbors. They often like to rifle through our laundry basket to find clothes to dress up in. Hannah usually begins by parading around the house with the item of clothing on her head covering her face. Well, I didn't feel like watching her run into every wall and door on this particular morning so instead we put daddy's shirts on the correct way instead of covering our faces. They very much enjoyed playing "daddy" with his dress shirts. Didn't get a great pic of the joy on their faces but still thought it was priceless.
This past weekend, my very thoughtful and generous husband surprised me with a massage, while he took the girls to the mall's playland, and then we all went out to lunch. He also installed the screen/storm door I have always wanted. Needless to say this small project turned out to be a much larger project, like they always do, and about 4 trips later to Home Depot, the door was finally completed. I LOVE IT!!! And the girls loved watching/helping daddy with their very first home improvement project. Don't they look so grown up?

August Update
I have just spent the last whole nap time updating from our weekend. They are in reverse order of days, but that is just how I think. Enjoy the pictures. We had a blast seeing/being with all of the grandmas, grandpas, great g&g's, and family. Congratulations Carrie and Alex on a beautiful wedding day. We really miss you and wish you were closer!
On a side note, we finally reached the third trimester of this pregnancy, PTL! It is flying by and has been pretty uneventful.
Today I noticed a large and gaping hole in my daughter's mouth. It appears that Miss Hannah is finally getting her 9th tooth (the first year molar). Which just means that three more are on their way in her mouth and Miss Megan will quickly follow with her four molars. Oh the joys of teeth!
This weekend also marks the 90th birthday for both of my dad's parents. They continue to live on their own, shop at Goodwill and faithfully attend their church. They are amazing people and have built a true legacy of faith for our family. They lived through the "Great Depression", served oversees during the war, travelled the world and buried two children (one being a baby and the other, my dad). They have seen a lot in their lives but continue to serve the Lord and bless their family with all that they have. I praise God for allowing them such a long life and for making them my Grandparents.

Last Sunday-The Big Day!

Sunday was Carrie's big day (Charlie's little sister) and Alex's too! We started the day off in Wheaton. Charlie and the girls met Uncle Alex, Uncle Wes and Alicia at a park to kill time while we got our hair done. After that it was a quick lunch and nap at the hotel to rest our sleepy princesses before their debut as flower girls.
We arrived early for pictures, made it through those with smiles (hopefully...we haven't seen any proof of that) and a couple dry runs down the isle. It was going to prove to be a challenge, getting both down isle with smiles. And I am thankful to say that at least one made down. Meg decided she would rather stay in Grandma Kathy's arms then walk by all of the people. You had to watch quickly because Hannah ran so fast, if you blinked...you missed her.
Both girls graciously waved and applauded for themselves as they were introduced during the reception. I hope this isn't an indication of future beauty pageants or anything of the sort.
They danced the "daddy/daughter" dance in their sweet father's arms. And then Hannah later let loose on the dance floor with all of the other guests. We're going to have our hands full with that one.
I am very disappointed to say that I have zero pictures of this day so far. I am hoping once things settle down that I will get some pics from people at the wedding. So if you have any...this is my plea for them. I saw how precious they were but I would love to have pictures that they could see as well.

Last Saturday
We started out with a trip to see Great Grandma and Great Grandpa L. For those of you who don't know, Great Grandpa L went with us to Korea to pick up Hannah and Megan. He had served there during the Korean War and was excited to get back and see the country. He lights up every time he gets to see his little Korean girls. He is also deserving of recognition for being a "Pillar of Character" in his town and was recently featured in the newspaper for all of his service to the community. We also got to see Grandpa L, who also traveled to SK with us. Grandma Peggy couldn't make it even though she wanted to. She had the huge job of flowers for Carrie's wedding and her mother was in the hosital as well.
That afternoon we took another trip to the sprinkler park, this time with Grandma Kathy and Alissa. They came to babysit the girls and their cousin Alicia during the rehearsal dinner. They had fun at Grandma Linda's while we had fun at the restaurant with our friends Jay and Holly and all of our other family.
Friday of last week
So after a very successful night in the hotel with the girls, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and then Aunt Carrie, Alicia and Grandma Linda came to swim at the hotel with us. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of this event (and I am glad that the preg. woman in pool wasn't documented on camera).
After a nap we headed out to Geneva for a BBQ with some of my HS friends and their families. It was so great seeing everyone but times have definitely changed and our get-togethers are no longer a time to really catch up but more a time of quick conversations between catching our kids. All girls so far at these gatherings but we're hoping for some boys in the future. The girls and I really missed seeing our Aunt Lindsay (she's in S. Africa), Aunt Beth (she's in Seattle) and Aunt Scottie (she's who knows where right now). These are friends that I have treasured since High School and sorely miss being away from them. Thanks Christie and Dave for the great time and food. Here is a picture of all of our girls and then one of the husbands who put up with us as well. God has richly blessed all of us and while we have seen tragedy since our days at WA, God has shielded us with the blessings of these friends.
Last Thursday
We drove down on Thursday afternoon and had pizza with Grandma Linda and Grandpa Bob. But before we got to enjoy our Chicago style pizza we had to work it off with a trip to this awesome park across the street from their house. It had a great playground but the best part was the sprinkler park. The girls weren't really sure at first but we spent the next three days there because it was so hot.
