This past weekend with Grandma

Charlie's mom came up to spend last weekend with us. Grandpa Bob couldn't make it due to a major family birthday. The girls had a ton of fun with Grandma Linda and I really enjoyed the help. The couldn't get enough of her willingness to read and be led around by them holding her hand. One of the girls new favorite things is "acorns". We have an oak tree in the yard and they love to pick up all of the acorns. We were saying the word "acorn" to grandma and all of a sudden she pulled a book about God's acorns out of her suitcase, kind of like Mary Poppins. She also had one about pumpkins and brought a very round pumpkin for the girls. We never got around to carving it...where does the time go? We took Grandma to the farmer's market, the park, out for dinner and to church. I am sure she went home more tired then when she came.

Here are some fun pics from the weekend.

A fun couple of weekends

We have had a blast the last couple of weekends with visitors coming to see us. Last weekend Charlie's dad came up for the day. As with anybody, the girls take a little warming up before they are sure about someone. Well, it didn't take long to remember Grandpa C. He read the girls book after book, let them eat his fruit, and always had a smile to encourage their silly behavior! Grandma Peggy couldn't come up this time but sent the most darling aprons for the girls and very fun Halloween clothes too. The girls love the aprons and Meg especially has to wear hers from the time she gets up until I make her take it off at night. She loves to tuck her toys in pockets and carry them around with her, hands free!

Hannah sitting with Grandpa. The first to warm up!

Stuffing toys into the pockets of her new apron! The girls love to identify the turtle on the apron and the fish. You can see the little turtle on the side there.

Doesn't take long for Meg to join in on the fun with Grandpa and Hannah!

The following day, Sunday, one of Charlie's business associates joined us for lunch after church. David and Charlie then headed out for an afternoon of shooting skeet and golfing. We think daddy works too hard sometimes. David met the girls last fall and couldn't believe how grown up they were. His wife Kathi hand knit H and M the most beautiful sweaters last year and we can't wait to wear them again!

Recent Pictures (somewhat recent anyway)

The birthday boy at his very low key party on his big day. The girls picked out new boxers for his present.

A little background to our overnight stay at the local ranch. Charlie made all the arrangements himself and it was all very scheduled so needless to say, nothing we ever do turns out as easily as it should. In a nutshell...We got to the ranch, checked in, unpacked and set up the girl's beds, had an early dinner, found mold on my sandwich, went back to the room to change into our suits for the water park, got to the water park, found out they closed it b/c no one had been there in a few hours, spoke to the manager, he offered us a pizza as an apology, we declined the pizza, Charlie stayed very calm but insistent, the manager still said he sent all of the lifeguards home, we decided to check out and go home, I went back to the room to pack up with Megan, Charlie and Hannah went to the owner's office, Hannah knocked all of the owners chess pieces on the floor as daddy explained the situation, the owner had the manager open the park back up, the four of us played and swam while four lifeguards stood about three feet away from us the whole time, the lifeguards offered to babysit while charlie and I rode the slides, we declined, had a blast and got ice cream before we went to bed.

The next morning we got up, had breakfast and took a carriage ride and went to their petting zoo. Here are the pics.

The girls in the water park.

Getting ready for the carriage ride.

This is a picture of us at the conclusion of our stay at the ranch. Charlie thought there should be at least one photo of me to prove that I went along.
This is Bonnie and Clyde. They were two 9 year old Clydesdale horses that took us on our carriage ride. They were the sweetest horses and they loved to have their noses rubbed.

Update....Finally

Sorry guys, I have really dropped the ball with the blogging. Today it will only be a written update but hopefully will add some pics in the next few days. We have had a ton going on and I have just been lazy.

This past week we have been cutting at least 5 teeth (both Incisors and 1 year molars) in both H and M's mouths. Teething never ends here! We celebrated someone special's 30th birthday and took a little overnight trip to a water park. We also saw some of our favorite friends from way back to Charlie's youth- the U family. They are our friends that gave the girls their first bracelets and have graciously promised their three little boys to our three little girls if all agree of course. We love getting together with them and had a blast walking the pier and having pizza downtown where the children could run free in the grass.

We are also nearing the end of this pregnancy journey, thankfully. Only 9ish more weeks until this little girl makes her appearance. Still don't have a name but I can't blame that one on my husband anymore, he left it up to me. This momma is a little overwhelmed with how much her fun little lifestyle is going to change with a baby around here. Seeing as to how we won't be overly "attachment" minded with this one, we would love to have all the help holding that you want to give in order to get your baby fix. We have been slowly thinking about getting things ready. Notice the still "thinking" mode we're in. Maybe we'll paint the room this weekend. However, the girls are all out preparing by continuously wrapping up their baby dolls and stuffed rabbits in blankets, reading them stories and sweetly patting them on their backs as they carry them around the house.

The girls are starting to really talk. Meg has even put two words together a couple of times. Her words are getting more clear every day. She is growing like a weed and her height is getting away from Hannah. She loves balls, dolls, animals, reading and most of all singing. She continually asks for songs while we eat, Itsy Bitsy Spider, being the front runner. Hannah is also growing her vocabulary daily but her favorite word continues to be "no," whether she means it or not. She loves to wear daddy's shoes, brush mommy's hair, climb on things and take toys away from her sister. They make us laugh all the time but we often get a kick out of rehashing the days events as we lay in bed at night. Our lives are so full fun right now!

Some other big news. Last week Monday, Hannah went #1 on the potty. Well...mostly on the potty until she stood up and bent over to see what was happening and peed all over the floor! We were so proud of her and she just beamed with pride as she ate her M&M. Other then these random potty times before bathtime, we haven't really pushed the potty too much. As stated before, this lazy mom isn't into much these days besides just enjoying my girls until all of our lives change drastically.

That's all for now!!!
