8 Months for Kate!!!

On her 8th month birthday, Kate decided to pop up her second tooth (on the bottom) and also surprise us by sitting up in her crib. She has now proven to us that she is a closet, or crib performer. She has yet to sit up by herself in front of any of us, but as soon as we close the door to her room, she pops herself right up to sitting.

Did I mention the other thing she did that I couldn't remember a couple of weeks ago. It was reaching up, like "pick me up" reaching. So there, that can go in the baby book that I have yet to write in. But at least it is mentioned here...so I have a date.

Gotta run, the little one is up and muffins that H, M and I created are due out of the oven.

Pictures to follow.

Our week

Here are some random pics of our last couple of days... click on any picture to see it bigger.

Last Saturday night we went to some friends of ours to see their litter of Golden puppies. Meg picked this one.....to hold, not to bring home. She does have her momma's love for puppies though. Don't worry, I wasn't even tempted to bring one home.

Hannah, not so interested in holding, just posing for the camera. That is a bug bite by her left eye.

We met Uncle Ron down at Aunt Kristen's/Uncle Ron's Garden to pick some very delicious strawberries. The girls loved finding the "red" ones, not green. Hannah especially had fun picking with Uncle Ron-she has this thing for older men! Thanks Uncle Ron for sharing and picking us some flowers to take home!!! A true gentleman....

Then we had Katherine and her very sweet Austin over for dinner on Wednesday. Katherine brought dessert, any guesses as to what it is? A very chocolaty pot of fondue!!! The girls first experience with that and I think they liked it....

What do you think??? Don't worry, they ate the strawberries and bananas while the adults ate the brownies and pound cake!!! Yummy...thanks guys for coming to our zoo. Can't wait to do it again!

These next few are from a couple of weeks ago.
Meg was drawing on her Magna Doodle and said to me, "Mom, I draw a duck...with long legs." My first thought was "Ok Meg, sure you drew a duck." Then she showed it to me and I about wet my pants, there is a stinking picture of a duck with long legs! It even has webbed feet and a beak So meet my new children's book illustrator, Megan

Then both M and H decided to dress up a little. What they surprised me with completely reflects who they are. Meg, who loves to walk on her toes, shoes up in this number.... stunning!

And Hannah who we often say reminds us of an old lady, came up wearing this ensemble. The old lady thing is for several reasons from the fact that she mothers everyone but just the way she carries herself is just like an old lady. I know exactly what she'll look like at 70 years old, and now so do you.

For a child who can hardly walk without falling down, let alone run without toppling over, she proceeded to run flippidy flopping around my living room and then decided it would be fun to start jumping. This is her in mid air jumping. Not once did she ever fall down running and jumping in these stinking shoes. I think this picture reminds me of a cross between Mary Poppins and the Dixie Chicks.

Happy Daddy's Day To You!!!

We love our dear "Daddy Man"
the three of us, your biggest fans.
Our mommy is quite found of you too
and there's no doubt about Rudy Roo.

Every day you work so hard
And on the weekends you work in the yard.
Somehow you always find a way
to share a Popsicle and in the grass lay.

No other daddy and kids do we see
at the park or in Home Depot as much as thee.
With you and Rudy we always are
in you heart, your thoughts or in the car.

You make us breakfast each day you're home
then through the park you let us roam.
You make us eggs, pancakes, waffles, and ice cream
your love and care for us seems only like a dream.

Your eyes show us love like you have for no other
but the best love you show us is for our mother.
We see how much you love her, give, and serve
and how one day we too that much deserve.

Your love for us is evident to all.
You are always there to pick us up after we fall.
Your hugs and kisses take away our pain
Your joy and silliness let us dance in the rain.

We may never tell you what your love has done
because often we don't walk we just run.
We have self confidence, joy and peace from your love
but above all else you teach us about our Father above.

So on this second Father's Day for you,
We hope you know all this is true.
We know God gave you to us for a reason
Enjoy us today, this is a very short season!

Ode to Kate

Kate knows she's going to push herself pretty hard to keep up with her ROCK STAR sisters so, when she decides to do something, she goes all out.

Yesterday she decided to pop her first tooth through. She is now seven months and we have been anticipating this tooth for awhile. I check every day and nothing. Yesterday morning as the troops gathered in our bed, in went my finger and viola....the edge of tooth.

She also decided to wave for the first time yesterday. She thought it most important to do for her cousins HS graduation party. There was one more first but I can't think of it right now. Probably won't remember to write it down either but hey, she's the third and shouldn't have too many expectations anyway.
Kate loves to eat her food and has also experimented with several non baby type foods as well. Hard when you only have a partial tooth to chew with. She continues to sleep the best and longest through the night then any of her other family members. We're not bitter, but Abby, you should be.
Side Notes:
Congrats to Wesley on completing his third and final phase of the CFA program (hopefully!!!)
I also posted some pics from the wedding below this post, make sure to check them out.
Signing off before the thunderstorm claims my computer!

Ok, so this...

didn't happen as quick as I wanted it to but Oh Well!

Here are some pics of the girls during our big wedding weekend. Well...it wasn't really our big wedding but it was pretty big and the girls were in it (or at least made a brief appearance in it). The good news is that they both actually made it down the aisle and without crying I might add. They didn't walk together and they did it barefoot because the shoes I bought but a month earlier were already too small on Meg, so...bare tootsies it was! They were beautiful and the bride was stunning, overall a fabulous wedding. Enjoy!!!

Checking out the local caterpiller joint before the wedding.
