Odds and Ends...

There is no particular rhyme or reason to these pics. Just posting some to make up for my lack of them lately. Please excuse me on this post. I'm not feeling overly witty today, just gray, like the weather.

This is Megan examining Rudy. She felt warm to them, but it is only because she loves to lay in the sunshine.

Here is Hannah listening to Rudy's heart and taking her blood pressure.

Kate putting up with us being outside on a not so warm day. Fresh air does us all a bit of good! Kate would beg to differ.

Megan blowing bubbles from her Aunt Kristen. She spent about an hour just sitting there with her bubbles.

Hannah taking a turn blowing her bubbles. After about 4 minutes, they were spilled all over the driveway. She then moved on to the Cozy Coupe.

Megan on Easter morning, opening her Easter basket. He sweater poncho was made by the wife of one of Charlie's business associates and friend. Thanks Kathi K, they were a beautiful addition to their Easter dresses, especially since there was four inches of snow on the ground.

Grandma Grandma on Easter morning with her girls. Their outfits coordinated nicely.

All three of my girls on Easter morning. Kate just loved to be held by her sisters.

In between church and dinner we had an egg hunt. The girls LOVED finding all of the eggs, especially the eggs with chocolate and raisins in them. Hmmmm, never thought about giving them chocolate covered raisins before. Note to self, choc covered raisins for next years Easter egg hunt! This egg had socks in it!

Meg found a bracelet in hers!

This is from a couple of weeks ago. Meg was feeding Kate with me!

This is one of Hannah's favorite things to do, bathe Kate with me. This day she got to get in the tub with her. Both girls had a ton of fun.

This is yesterday. They wanted to hold Kate, it just looked so cute, I had to take a picture.

Easter weekend after our snow, it wasn't very cold, that is why there aren't hats on the girls.

Hannah with her Easter basket. She quick snuck a Pez in her mouth before we could stop her. Stinker.

A Ton of Catching Up To Do...

I once read a blog that was updated every Monday and Thursday. I have tried to make that my goal but continually let myself down when I don't follow through with it. Since it is Tuesday, probably won't happen again this week. I have also become very lazy about taking pictures again. Need to start doing more of that again too. Kate is changing a ton, not doing much besides that but she is growing very quickly. Megan is also growing a lot these days. Both charlie and I looked at her yesterday and are just amazed at how old she looks. Hannah is as silly as ever and won't stop talking. Sometimes we have to institute the "NO TALKING RULE" at the table so that our meal doesn't last more then one hour. It kills her, so she just starts singing instead.

We had a nice visit from all of charlie's family last weekend. We celebrated his aunt Gail's 50th birthday. She too could pass for Charlie's sister (ETA that she could pass for charlie's sister b/c she looks so young, not b/c my husband looks old). The girls loved seeing all of their aunts, uncles and cousins. Swimming is always a hit with them too. For Easter we went to Aunt Kristen and Uncle Dave's and were spoiled yet again with some very fun Easter bags, awesome food and great company. Kate slept for most of it, the girls were entertained, so I just got to eat and talk. Can't get much better then that!

Last week we also had a quick visit from my very bestest friends from High School. The other Lindsay was in the states from her home in Cape Town SA, Scotty from CO, and Karen from IL. I had so much fun catching up with all of them, it makes me feel like I am back in HS and I love that! HS was one of my favorite times in life-sick I know! Congrats Linds on becoming an auntie and on your engagement to Lenard! Thanks for making the trek up here to meet my superstars! Come back soon!

My camera batteries died, probably because I haven't used it in so long, so I will have to post pics later. Sorry to get your hopes up!

Same old, same old...

Except that Grandma Linda came to stay with us for a couple of days. I love the help and how much it breaks up the days (especially towards the end of the week). The girls just love how much she dotes on them, reads to them and does puzzles with them.

We have also colored Easter eggs, twice now. The girls loved it so much we had to do it again. After the first set of hard boiled eggs, we discovered that the girls didn't like hard boiled eggs. So, the second time we blew out the eggs first. Grandma Kathy is going to be eating eggs all week. The new eggs are sitting in a glass bowl on our kitchen table, the girls love seeing the fruit of their labor displayed.

Charlie and I were able to go out for the first time since Kate has been home, but really the first time just for fun since the girls have been home. We had a wonderful dinner with some friends from our small group. Thanks to Miss Beth, Summer and Shelby for their wonderful entertaining, babysitting, and friendship to us. The girls have an absolute blast with them. They brought over a bag full of dress up clothes for the girls. I haven't been able to undress them from their favorites yet. Megan wore a blue leotard all afternoon and Hannah enjoys a vest and moccasins. Little Miss Kate's eyes sparkled when Beth would call her pretty. Thanks-friends for taking such great care of the girls and letting us enjoy a childless meal!

Saturday night we had some newer friends over for pizza. Charlie first golfed with Rich about a year ago and then we met his family. We still keep Rich around but really enjoy Kari, Lexi and Ethan.

Potty training continues to go on. After two weeks of being dry, I started to get a little too relaxed. Three accidents later, I am SO back on my game. Both Hannah and Megan are doing so well and I love not having to buy a zillion diapers a week.

The ramblings of a laundry lady

It is Saturday night, I've been in my PJ's for almost two hours. The house is straightened, laundry is going, and I have nothing to do. I am such a boring old lady.

We have actually had a very fun weekend so far. Haven't taken pictures to document it but I will give you the run down. Last night we had pizza with Steve, Kelly and their three boys (that is the family that gave my girls their silver bracelets). Very fun, the girls enjoyed playing with all of the "boy toys" that we don't have at our house.

This morning Charlie made blueberry pancakes for all of us and then we all went to the circus. The girls enjoyed the animals the most, they got to ride the ponies before it started. That was only slightly complicated because the ponies were all attached to a wheel and you had to walk next to them. The only problem was that in order to maximize the number of riders, they never stopped the horses. You had to put/take off your child while the horse kept walking. It worked out fine for us, since I had Kate in the Ergo and we could each walk next to our girls. Things got a little complicated when an older (most kids were 3-6 years old and she was 8-10) and a very stocky girl wanted to ride. The circus workers shifted a couple of children in order to accommodate her on a larger pony but then it took two full rotations to get her on that pony. The circus workers had to get her a running start, missed the first time but finally got her on the second time. I don't know if that makes sense to you. Charlie told me later that her fly was wide open too. I hope this doesn't sound too mean but it was pretty funny. I would have just skipped the pony ride if I were that poor girl.

After leaving at intermission because we were all bored of trapeze people, we came home, took naps and then headed off to the park. Kate once again was in the Ergo, Hannah and Meg on the red sled. We did a trail, ended at the swings and played for awhile.

Meg and Charlie headed off to Home Depot while Hannah and Kate took a bath together. Hannah was in all her glory because now she could actually reach all of Kate to properly wash her. We all did puzzles and then all three were off to bed.

Hannah's highlight of the night was calling Grandma Peggy to wish her a happy birthday and tell her about the circus. This afternoon when she was suppose to be napping, I heard her on the monitor practicing her "Happy Birthday Grandma Peggy." Grandma, we hope you enjoyed it as much as Hannah did singing it to you.

Watch out Aunt Abby, you are next!!!
