Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Oh, how much we have to be thankful for-our families, our friends, healthy children, jobs, warm houses, but most of all blessings from the only One that can provide true salvation for us! Thank you, Lord for all you have blessed us with and entrusted in our care for the time-being.

We are lucky to not be traveling for the first holiday of this season. Thankfully, Charlie's whole family chose the beautiful state of Michigan to celebrate Thanksgiving in! Uncle Wes arrived last night-much to Hannah & Megan's delight and Grandma Linda and Grandpa Bob are driving up right now. Great Grandma Carol is driving with them and will stop by to see her 9th great grandchild before she heads over to large family gathering. What a heritage Bob and Carol have created of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that love the Lord. Amazing to have that on both sides of our families. That is something to truly thank God for!

Right now Charlie is braving the cold with Hannah and Megan at the park. They thought Mulligan and Rudy needed some exercise and they also wanted to try out their new snowsuits. Kate is napping peacefully, the laundry is started, dishwasher running, and the blog is finally being updated! What an efficient day we are having! It helps when daddy and Uncle Wes are here to lend a hand.

Kate is officially "chunking up". Yesterday I had her weighed and she was 8lbs 11oz at four weeks. Next week is her one month check up and we'll see what the doctor says but right now her cheeks are filling out and so are her thighs. She is still sleeping all night, except for one or two feedings, but even then I have to rouse her a little. She went a stretch of 6.5 hours one night this week. Nice for me, except that I wake every half hour to see if she's awake. We're still getting the hang of this. She also still sleeps quite a bit during the day. Amazing! I am enjoying it a ton because I don't know how long it will last.

Megan is proving to be quite the smart little lady! Her vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. All of sudden she will just name some object, of course that usually comes after announcing the color and sometimes the shape first. She still has an intense passion for reading but now she has added catalog shopping to her passions. Tis the season for magazines and catalogs to arrive in the mail and she can hardly wait for me to come in with the mail so she can check out the latest toys, fashion and home goods.

Hannah continues to amaze me with her small motor skills. She loves to build with her duplos (big lego) and complete puzzles. She will sit forever and do those two things. She still really likes to read, has a blast with balls and still really enjoys stealing toys from her sister! Hannah too is talking more and more. Now, when Charlie comes home at night and asks them what they did during the day, they will starting pouring out words. It kills me what they remember. They crack us up all the time, they cheer us on after we go potty, and they love to hold Kate.

Overall, we are adjusting well. Still adjusting but it gets better all the time. This mom is a little worried about losing her mom to Abby who is about to add to the female population of the family but we all know how much she deserves some time and help with mom. I can't be stingy I am very spoiled.

Sorry this lasted so long. Have an incredible Thanksgiving and enjoy every member of your family, we never know how long we'll have with them!

Halloween and Beyond

Sorry, once again for the delay. We are all doing well. Still adjusting and trying to figure things out. Both Daddy and Grandma have been very patient with me as I am trying to pull my life together. Here are some pics from Halloween and some of Kate. We trick or treated downtown and then Charlie took them around the neighborhood. At first they just loved looking at people in the costumes, then they figured out what this stuff was going in their pumpkin bags. Daddy gave them a sucker and then there was no turning back. They had a difficult time going to bed that night but it was all so much fun. Thankfully it wasn't too cool out and Kate could go with us trick or treating downtown, all bundled up of course. Start them young, that's my mantra.

Love to you all. Thanks for all the support, emails, gifts, and cards. Thank you's are on their way and now we are good with newborn stuff for Kate. I never bought any because I never thought I'd have one so little. She is one well dressed little lady!!! Thankfully she'll be in the newborn clothes for a little while, she still has plenty of room. Thanks a ton!!!
